The Town of Deer Lake will enter the final stage of having garbage collection that is entirely lift compatible in December 2020. During this time any property without a lift compatible garbage bin will have a bin delivered by the Town of Deer Lake. The cost of the bin will be invoiced to the property owner as of January 1, 2021. In the situation of a multi-unit buildings there must be sufficient number of garbage bins to accommodate the garbage for all units.
To date over 90 percent of the properties in Deer Lake have lift compatible garbage bins. The Town of Deer Lake appreciates the effort from residents on this initiative. These bins are a very efficient, cost-effective, safe and a responsible method of garbage collection and help reduce litter, odour and pest problems.
