In consultation with Deer Lake Fire Rescue it has been decided that effective 8:30am on May 1st, 2023 there will be an outdoor fire ban in place for properties within the Town of Deer Lake, this ban includes fires in contained fire pits.
Deer Lake Fire Rescue has seen a significant increase in fire calls for backyard fires and have consulted with the Town of Deer Lake to institute this ban.
There is no date for the ban to be lifted at this time.
