DEER LAKE MUNICIPAL RV PARK & CAMPGROUND UPDATE

Residents of Deer Lake may have noticed work being completed in the Deer Lake Municipal RV Park & Campground in preparation for the upcoming camping season.

The Town of Deer Lake in conjunction with the developer have continued to provide improvements in the area to help modernize the park and welcome residents and visitors for years to come.

Since its inception many years ago the Deer Lake Municipal RV Park & Campground has seen many attempts to improve the camping experience at the park. During its lifespan the park has experienced damages from time to time caused by seasonal flooding in the area. The latest flood damage in 2020 caused significant deterioration of the park which prompted a need for additional repairs in the area.

Protecting the waters of Deer Lake and the Humber River are a part of this continued improvement. The Town of Deer Lake has collaborated with the Provincial Environmental Assessment and the Water Resources Management Divisions on the development and will continue consultation.

Work at the Deer Lake Municipal RV Park & Campground is not yet complete, construction in the area will continue in preparation for the summer season. The Town of Deer Lake looks forward to the finished product that will provide a waterfront park nestled within the heart of our beautiful community.

The Town of Deer Lake takes great pride in the shores of Deer Lake and have made investments in accessibility and aesthetics along the beach which have included improved access, walking trails, off-road vehicle control measures and beach grooming.
