Public Advisory: Boaters advised to use caution in the waters of Deer Lake and the Humber River.
The Town of Deer Lake is advising boaters to use caution in the Deer Lake and Humber River area due to the heavy rainfall that has recently occurred.
Recent rainstorms have loosened debris now moving down the river. Large sections of rapidly-moving debris may accumulate in the river and Deer Lake.
Boaters are advised to be aware of debris hazards and use caution while boating.
The current in the Humber River is also excessive at this time, boaters and swimmers in the river need be aware of this strong current before entering the river.
