Deer Lake Power advises residents of Deer Lake and surrounding
communities of a scheduled controlled release of water from Grand Lake.
This action is required due to high reservoir levels caused by above average rainfall during December 2021 – March 2022 combined with Spring snowmelt.
Water will be released over Main Dam, down Junction Brook and into the Upper Humber River starting April 29, 2022. The duration of the release is not known at this time. Water levels and flows may become higher than normal, and people are advised to use caution.
