TOWN OF DEER LAKE – PUBLIC HEARING
AMENDMENT TO MUNICIPAL PLAN & DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS
DEER LAKE AIRPORT
Deer Lake Council has adopted an amendment to the Deer Lake Municipal
Plan and Development Regulations, which will allow for a broader range of
commercial development at Deer Lake Airport. This will create opportunities
for the Airport Authority to diversify its revenues, improve support for airport
operations, and strengthen its competitive advantage within the air service
industry.
In the Airport zone, the amendment will add commercial accommodation,
outdoor market, recreational open space, service station, takeout food
service, and vehicle sales and services as Permitted Uses and drinking
establishment as a Discretionary Use.
A Public Hearing to consider objections or other representations on the
amendments will be held at the Deer Lake Town Office at 7:00 p.m., April 14, 2026.
The draft amendments can be viewed on at the Town Office or on Council’s
website (www.deerlake.ca/news-and-updates).
Persons who wish to comment on the amendments shall submit a written
statement or email outlining their objection or other representation. If no
submissions are received by 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 10th, the Public Hearing may
be cancelled.
