Deer Lake Staff have been working with officials from the Department of Wildlife regarding coyote and fox sightings here in the community. To minimize “negative encounters” with these animals here is a tip sheet to residents:
– avoid feeding coyotes, foxes or other wild animals. Feeding wild animals is detrimental to the animals themselves and can create problems for the neighborhood.
– Avoid feeding domestics pets outdoors.
– Ensure that all household garbage is inaccessible to animals.
– Always supervise pets – keep dogs on a lease and cats indoors.
