The Newfoundland Growlers and Brampton Beast will square off in an exhibition hockey game at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex on Friday, October 5 at 7 pm. The two East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) teams are playing a total of three games in the province. Tickets for the Deer Lake match cost $24 per seat, $21.70 for standing room and $18.25 per person for groups of 20 or more (all prices include HST). Tickets are available at the North Atlantic store and at the Deer Lake Town Office, 34 Reid’s Lane, up until Wednesday, October 3. Tickets can also be purchased at the Hodder on Thursday and Friday, October 4 and 5, respectively. The Newfoundland Growlers are the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs while the Beast is the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens. The three-game series is part of both teams’ pre-season training camp, which runs from Sept. 30 to Oct. 9.
